DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET.
J. H. Kilgoub, grain and produce broker, reports under date August 17 as follows :~ Wheat. — There is no change to report. Supplies coming to hand are small, but the demand is limited. I quote prime milling at 3s lOd to 4s 2d ; medium, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; fowl feed, which is very scarce, 3s 4d to 3s 7d Oats.— The market continues quiet at Is 7£d to Is 8d for bright short feed and 1b B|d to Is 9d for milling. Long Tartariana for seed are .wanted, at up to 2s for clean samples. ' , , Barley.— There is Borne inquiry for good malting lots at 3s lOd to 4s (bags extra) ; milling, 3s 3d to 3s 6d; feed,2s6dto2s9d. Chaff.— Supplies of good oaten sheaf have not been so plentiful, and good lots are readily saleable at £2 15s ; medium quality, £2 7s 6d to £2 10s.
Potatoes.— Supplies are pretty full of Southerns, which I have been selling at £1 15s. Good Northerns would fetch £2. Grass Seed.— The market is well supplied with rye grass, but there is little business doing, and it is ■difficult to give quotations. Cocksfoot, 4jd to 4fd per lb. Turnips, 14s to 15s ; carrots nominally 255, but no business doing. ■ Butter.— Salt, in kegs, quiet at 6d ; fresh plentiful at 7d to 8d in mixed cases. Eggs, Is Id per dozen.
