HORSE MARKET.

Messrs Weight, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows: — For last Saturday's sale about 90 horses came forward, most of them from the country. They consisted for the most part of some really first-class draught mares and geldings from Messrs Win. Waddell (Eoughcraig Farm), E. Robson (Lovell's Flat), J. Draper (Milton), and Allan Gait (Mataura). Although there was a great attendance at the sale, but few evinced any desire to buy ; consequently prices were not large. We sold in all about 50 head, and these at a considerable reduction on recent quotations. We quote first-class heavy draughts at from £18 to £24; medium, £10 to £15; first-class hacks and light harness horses, £14 to £20; medium, £6 to £10; light and inferior, £110s to £5.
