GULENKENIC.

(PROM OUR OWN CORK.KSPOJSDKNT.)

April 25th.

Agricultural —The weather for the past week has been exceedingly fine, although of a frosty nature, and another week of it will no doubt be sufficient to enable all to get their gram th>eshed. Talking 1 of threshing rominds me that in your query column of last week Ilioticed Mr Manning's reply to "Thresher," and which, although I do not wish to revive memories of the past, I cannot pass over without a word or two to corroborate a few of the remarks made by Mr Manning. As already stated by that gentleman, it is not necessary that Messrs Marshall should specially construct a machine to thro-h 2000 bushels per day, as the mill made b\ G. Marshall and Sons, of which J spoke in a former communication, has ou seveial occasions put through that amount. On Mr Ferguson's farm a short time aero 2050 bushels of screened oats were tln\shed in 11 hours, and on another occasion 2020 bushels were threshed in a day for Mr J. Smith, of Greotivale. I have also noticed that Meß9ra Brand aDd Smith's engine is extremely light on fuel and water, using, I am positive, Jittlo more than half of that cousumod by the Kobcy, Kausomc, and other makes.

Trucks Wastkd.— Trucks at Kelso are as scarce as evor. iiouo having arrivod yesterday, and only one on Monday. It is expected, however, that a supply will arrive to-day. On Suuday last a •' special " arrived conveying 13 truck*, 12 of which left on Monday loaded with grain ; but for all this, thoro is at the present tiuao upwards of 4000 bags stacked both on sleepers outside and iv tho goods-shod, which, at least is not a bit too largo for a baru on a 303 or 400 acre farm.
