Weekly Repor r. — Number of applications entered in Employers' Application Book from 19ch to 26th October, 17. Number entered in Servants' Application Book for same time, 12.
There were engaged, 5 female servants, 2 ploughmen, 1 station carpenter, 1 labourer, 1 male cook, 1 female cook, 1 bullock driver, 1 nursery maid. Current rate of wages for ploughmen from L4O to L 45;4 5; f finale servants, from L3O to L 35;3 5; female cooks, L4O ; labourers, 18s per week and found ; male cooks, 20a per week ; bullock drivers, 18s per week. The demand for country female servants is increasing, dairy maids being especially required. Shepherds for mustering are eagerly Bought for. The demand for farm servants for six months' engagement is also good, in fact, beyond the supply. The ship J. N. Fleming having arrived from Glasgow this morning with over 150 assisted immigrants, will for a time suuply the needful men and women for country work. Colin Allan, Agent.
