April 2, 1868. Messrs. Driver, Maclean t Co. report — Prime Beef, 40s to 42s 6d per lOOlbs. Prime Mutton, 3^d to 4d per lb. Store Cattle— Mixed mobs, £7 to £S 10s ; do, Bullocks, 2 to 5 years, £9 10s.
Good Dairy Cows, Lloto £20. Store Sheep— Wethers, 4-tooth and upwards, 9s to 9s 6d ; ewes, 2-tooth, about 14s ; do, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, 13s ; do, full-mouthed, about 8s 6d.
Lambs, mixed sexes, ISs per pair.
DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT.
April 2, 1868. Mr C. W. Lokenzek, Produce Merchant, Jetty street, reports :—: —
The sudden rise in the price of oats was owing to an advance in Melbourne ; but this week's mail has brought news of a decline of 9d per bushel. The consequence is that this grain is now much easier. Flour has s:ill an upward tendency. Corn sacks have risen to 16s prr dozen. The following are the latest quotations :—: — Whe.it. — 6s 6d to 6s 9 1 ; new, 7s ; old inferior, 4s 6d to 5s per bushel. Flour.— £l9 to £19 Ks per ton Seconds. — £7 to £7 10.s per ton. Bran.— £6 13s 6d per ton. Oats. — New, 2s lOd ; oW, 3s per bushel. Maize. — 3s 9d per bushel. Barley. — 3s 6d to 4s per bushel. Hay. — Rye, £3 10s ; oaten, £4 ; trussed, £4 10s per ton. Straw. — £2 per ton.
Chaff. — £4 10s per ton. Potatoes. — Provincial, £8 ; Melbourne,
£7 per ton.
Onions. — £8 per ton. Rye Grass Seed. — 5s 6d to 6s 6d per bushel, Corn Sacks. — 16s per dozen, by the bale.
