OPUNAKE REST ROOM

COMMITTEE MEETING RECOMMENDATIONS MADE At the meeting of the Opnnake Borough Council held on Tuesday the following recommendations of the Opnnake Women’s Rest Room Committee were adopted: (Committee present: The Mayor, Mr. R. H. Hugh sou, Crs. G. C. Clouston. F. S. BarraclougK, Mesdanies R. H. Hughson, EA. Poole, -T. Stevenson, J. S. Hickey, A. Dowman, A. M. Rose and Miss 11. Trolove). The committee inspected the Rest and Plunket Rooms and discussed the raising of funds needed to complete the work, estimated at £3OO, furnishings, etc. Recommendations: (1) That all money be raised and_ ihe building paid for before it is opened. (2) That a Maori representative from, each of the Oaonui, Opnnake and Pihama Maori health leagues be appointed to the committee. (3) That the committee inspect furnishings locally and decide on what seat's etc., to purchase for the Rest Room. (4) That a sub-committee consisting of Mesdanies Stevenson, Dowman and Miss Trolove wait on the Egmout County Council to request an increased grant in view of the rising costs since the grant was agreed to. (Grant £200). (5) That the Te Kiri Institute and the Oaonni Division be asked to raise funds in their districts. (G) That a house 1o house collection be made at a later date.
