FANCY DRESS BALL
TE KIRI SCHOOL AWARDS PRESENTED The Te Kiri School annual Fancy Dress Rail was held in the To Kiri Hull on August 19th. The function was well attended |>v interested parents and friends. The decorated hall made a delightful background to the display of colour of the children’s costume s which were both varied and picturesque. A programme of folk dances and musical games was enjoyed by all. r i he school chairman, Mr. B .Coupe, presented the following awards. Achievement Badges fur Agricultural Club work were presented to: Special Badges— Peter Beer and Leo Bloxham; Achievement Badges —Laurence Smith, Bob Mundt, Laurence Picard, Bruce Dormer and Colen Coupe.’ Cooper Cup (Runner-up, South Taranaki Champions nip ,for Potato Growing)—Noel Bennett. Certificates of Merit were awarded to —Noel Bennett, Laurence Smith, Bruce Dormer and ■Bruce Sturgeon. Costumes were as follows:

Accompaniments for children’s dancing were played by Mr. Dormer, while Mrs. L. Beer played for the adult audiences.
A competition was won by Mrs. B. Crawford, Patea.
