A Prosperous Society.
The Ancient Order of Foresters is growing rapidly in membership. Last year the increase of members was no less than 11,579. The total membership at the end of last year was 888,072, divided as follows :
Male benefit members ... 758,574 Female ditto ... ... 5,477 Juvenile ditto ... ... 116,881 Honorary members ' ... 20,113 Contributing widows ... 17,027
The total worth of the funds was £5,488,813, there being an increase last year of £257,989. Last year 40 new Courts were opened in the United States. Altogether, 98 Dispensations have been granted for Female Courts. During the first quarter of the present year Dispensations for 49 new Courts (28 Male and 21 Female Courts) were issued as follows: —England 16, Wales 1, South Africa 1, Australia 11, and Canada 10. If the same rate of progress is kept up, aud tber« is no doubt that when the High Court meets at Brighton in August next a membership reaching one million will be reported.
