Sir—As the lime is approaching for local bodies (if they intend doing so) lo take action re the small bird nuisance, I would point out what has been done by a conference of Road Boards in Marlboroughßesolved, That Mr Shaw be asked to prepare two bushels of poisoned wheat —one, with strychnine, and the other with phosphorus —for experimental use.” Perhaps it -would be ivell for this district to wait and learn which is the most effective, before purchasing.—l am, &c., G.
