Sn; —ln reply to “ Observer.” who asks in your columns of the Gth hist: “ If a Justice of the Peace can demand one or two guineas for witnessing a signature to a document in his official capacity as J.P., and if you would give the information you would oblige the district.” For the information of “ Obrerver ” and the district, I may say that I have witnessed a good number of signatures to documents in my official capacity as a J.P., but never in any case have I demanded or received payment in any shape or form.—l am, &c., G.
