HOME AND FOREIGN. The Strike in America. London, July 7. The last Australian mails via San Francisco, which were due to leave New York on the 28th instant, have not arrived, being delayed by the strikers. [The following advice, referring to the San Francises mails, was received by the local postmaster on Monday, 9th inst:—"The San Francisco mail will be forwarded as usual from Aucnland next Saturday. A mail for specially addressed correspondence will also be sent by the Ruahine, leaviug Lyttelton on the 12th. The public should also be advised that there is no missing mail via San Francisco, inferred by a cable appearing in this morning's newspapers, dated London, July 7th. The mails which left London on June 16th were despatched from San Francisco on the 28tb, and the mail which left New Zealand on the 19th May arrived in London on-June 20th. TheMonowai, which left New Zealand on June 16th, duly arrived at San Francisco on the 7th, and the mails go forward by the Canadian-Pacific railway. Kioters in Chicago have burnt 2000 Pullman cars, ,and a million dollars worth of cars in Wisconsin. The strike is extending to the East-rn railways, and the men in Buffalo, Pitdburg, and New York have been ordered to strike. The Knights of Labour have ordered its members in New York State to join the movement. Nine-tenths of the people in California are aidiog the strikers, and even the militia are assisting them.
