OXFORD ROAD BOARD.

This Board held their ordinary meeting on 4th inst present Messrs Bassett Weld, Stubbs and Wright. An appol.ogy was received from Mr, Hawker, and Mr Wright was voted to the Chair. Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Clerk reported that he had endeavoured to ascertain the requirements foi* loop races. By the View Hill Village settlers and the Board decided that lines of races shouid be laid off on both sides of the main and on approval of the settlers the water would be laid on. Correspondence. From Rangiora Road Board re uniform price to be paid for destruction of small birds. Board will adopt any resolutions passed by future meeting of the united Boards. From Land and Survey department vesting Ashley Gorge Bridge in this Board. From Kaiapoi Borough Council acknowledging receipt of £11 ss. 4d Boards share of Licensing election expenses; From Mrs Bvown requesting her name to be substituted ; for her late husband's on the Rate Roll. Granted From Mrs Hodges asking for shingle in front of Harewood Arms. Granted. Mr Reid waited on the Board and asked to be relieved from Storm water. The Board will inspect the ground to-morrow morning. The Board passed the resolutions re -levy. of rates notice of which were given at last meeting. The following tenders were accepted. For the waste timber at Ashley Gorge Bridge _1 12s Mr Higginson. 498, J. Dumphy Carting Manuka £8. 499. J. Gundry filling ruts £U lOs. 502. J. White filling ruts 1/5* per yd. Accounts to the amount of £104 6 s lOd were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
