Paeroa Market Report.
Messrs Mackay and Pratt repqrt as follows upon their Ohinemuri markets for the week ending 30th November, 1899 :—"At our usual weekly auction of fruit, produce, etc., held at Paeroa on Thursday, we had a fair attendance of the public. We sold cnerries at 4d per lb, gooseberries of best quality at 2d; a) so new kidney potatoes at £d per lb, prime hams 8d per lb, together with other produce, furniture and sundries at fair rates. At our next auction sale of live stock we shall have for disposal pigs, fat and store cattle, and fowls, for all of which we have lately obtained enhanced rates. The creameries in this district now being in full swing has created a large demand for dairy cows and store pigs. As soon as the holidays are over draught horses will again be required throughout the district. In properties we have to report a fair trade in leasehold lots, leaving but few in our hands for letting Property saled, on the other hand, are still hard to effect."
