MR. G.B. MOSS' CANDIDATURE

A well-attended meeting was held at the Masonic Hall on Monday night, a large number of our most influential citizens being present. Mr J. McAndrew was voted to the chair, and it was stated that the object oi the meeting was to discuss the political situation. As such a number of candidates had announced themselves, and as the election would be taking place in a little over a week's time, it was necessary that some concerted action should be taken to ensure, if possible, the return of a man who had a mind of his own, even if it was contrary to the Premier's wishes, and also was not afraid to express that opinion, or vote as conscience dictated. It was eventually decided unanimously that the meeting form itself into"a committee- for the purpose of promoting the candidature of Mr E. G. B. Moss.
