Record Postings At Dunedin

A record number of letters has been handled by the Chief Post Office for this particular period of the year, Dunedin postings from December 6 to last Thursday (inclusive) totalled'l,3o4,B4o, an increase of 122,640 over the corresponding period last year. Thursday’s postings totalled 77,740, an increase of 10,840 over the corresponding period last year. Outward telephone toll traffic dealt with by the Dunedin exchange from last Monday to Thursday also showed a considerable increase compared with the calls put through for the* corresponding period last year. On Wednesday 2492 outward calls lodged at the exchange constituted a record, for they were the greatest number of calls ever handled in one day.
