CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

Canadian And American Representatives PA WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. The High Commissioner for Canada, Mr A. Rive, has issued this message to the people of New Zealand: —“ lam happy to extend Christmas greetings to the people of New Zealand on behalf of the people of Canada. At this time there is one Christmas, and there will occur to us all the prayer, ‘Peace on Earth.’ May the united efforts of the leaders of the nations bring it to pass.” The American Ambassador, Mr Robert M. Scotten, in his message says: “To spend another holiday season in New Zealand is a special privilege for Mrs Scotten and myself. New Zealanders, through their many acts of friendliness and hospitality, have always made us feel at home in their midst.' The natural beauty of the country has sharpened year by year our pleasure in being here. With these thoughts in mind, on behalf of the American people and our ‘ official family’ here, I artl glad to extend to the people of New Zealand and all Americans residing in the Dominion my very best wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.”
