Green Island Borough PRESENT SYSTEM RETAINED At a poll held at Green Island in conjunction with the municipal elections ratepayers rejected a proposal for rating on unimproved value by a margin of 40 votes. The voting was:— For unimproved value .. 297 Against 337 Informal 5

Ratepayers eligible to vote totalled 1050, so that only about 60 per cent, went to the polls. The present system of rating at Green Island is on the annual value. About 38 postal and 15 declaration votes still remain to be counted.
