Tournament Arrangements Mr A. Napier was in the chair at the fortnightly meeting of the North Otago Football Association during the week-end. Permission was granted to the Eveline Club to play the Tainui Hockey Club at hockey and Soccer, and for the Oamaru Club to play its annual match with the 2nd NZEF Association. The Otago Football Association offered to include North Otago notes, players’, names . and competition games in its weekly programme. It was decided to accept the offer, and the secretary was empowered to make the arrangements. An entry of two teams for the schoolboys’ tournament in Oamaru in August was received from the Canterbury Union. Further arrangements for the tournament were made. It was stated that there would be four visiting teams taking part, comprising approximately 52 players, and billets would be required, It was decided to canvass Oamaru residents asking for billets. The Tournament Committee submitted the following programme for the tournament:—Tuesday, August 22: Arrival of visiting teams; official reception by the Mayor; cinema entertainment in evening. Wednesday: Matches at Takaro Park and Awamoa Park, morning and afternoon; conference of managers and Tournament Committee in association’s room in evening; players free. Thursday: Matches at Takaro Park and Awamoa Park, morning and afternoon; social in Peter Pan Theatre in evening. Friday: Visiting teams depart.
