EXCITING FINISH
Championship Cycling Trial An exciting finish, in which four riders crossed the line with only 1 l-ssec separating them, was staged in the Oamaru Amateur Cycling Club’s 25-mile championship trial, from Maynard and Armstrong’s factory to Alta Vady and return, on Saturday afternoon. Three of the riders were the scratch men, the fourth being K. J. Fraser (Bmin), who surprised the field by finishing on with the faster men. E. Cooper and G. Divers followed one minute behind the leading bunch, while the remainder of the field finished well back. Results were:—Sealed handicap: K. J. Fraser (Bmin) 1, G. Divers (smin) 2, K. Gibson (scr) 3. Fastest time: K. Gibson (lhr lOmin 36sec), F. Gibson (lhr lOmin 36 l-ssec), K. Johnson (lhr lOmin 37sec).
