Concert Grand Piano Offered To Council

An offer of a 9ft concert Grand Broadfort piano at a cost of £595 was received from Messrs Chas. Begg and Co., Ltd., at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Borough Council last night. The piano, which was in perfect order, would admirably suit the needs of the Town Hall, the letter stated. The case 'was of Rosewood hand French-polished. The piano, if landed in New Zealand today would retail in the vicinity of £ISOO. The firm, the letter stated, was prepared to give the borough any trial it wished, and it felt sure that the piano would satify the needs of a most critical performer and audience. The letter was referred to the Town Hall Committee.
