SCHOONER MISSING

Piracy In Caribbean Suspected NZPA—Copyright PORT OF SPAIN (Trinidad). May 15.

Rumours of a pirate ship terrorising the Caribbean have been given strength by a report today that a fourth schooner is missing. The schooner, the United Brothers, of 40 tons, left Trinidad 26 days ago on a two-day voyage to Union Island, off Antigua. Three other small craft have been lost in the past 30 days without explanation. The police are working on the theory that the pirates are looting vessels, killing the crews and weighting the bodies with iron bars before dumping them into the sea.
