Expulsion Of Jordan From The Arab League Demanded By Egypt
NZPA—Copyright Rec. 7.10 p.m. CAIRO, May 15. Egypt, with the support of SaudiArabia. the Lebanon and Syria, tonight demanded Jordan’s expulsion from the Arab League. Iraq and Yemen asked for time to consult their Governments when the matter came before the Political Committee of the Arab League. Earlier today the Iraqi Premier, Tewfik el Suweidi, appealed to the Regent of Iraq, Emir Abdul Illah, to try to end the league deadlock over Jordan’s annexation of Arab Palestine and thus save the five-year-old league from collapse.
