NATIONAL PARTY

The fifth annual meeting of the St. Kilda Electorate was held at the party centre and was attended by delegates from all the branches. The deputy chairman, Mr W. F. McCay, occupied the chair, and read the annual report of the chairman. Mr J. L. Laurie, which referred to the successful results of the general election, and more particularly to the ground gained in the St. Kilda Electorate. Mr Laurie thanked the members for their support and co-operation during a busy election year and stressed the necessity for maintaining the electorate organisation at its present state of efficiency. The activities of the womens section were outlined by Mrs J. Campbell and Mr V. Nikolaison reported on the steady progress being made by the .junior section. , ~ , The election of officers was decided by ballot and resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr J. L. Laurie; deputy chairman, Mr W. F. McCay; delegates to the divisional annual meeting Messrs J. L. Laurie, J. G. Hepderson. W. R. Sellar and Mrs J. Campbell; delegates to the Dominion Conference —Messrs J. L. Laurie, D. Murdoch, V. Nikolaison and Mrs J. Campbell. Remits were dealt with and referred to the divisional executive for consideration. A vote of thanks by Mr W. Martin to Mr Laurie for his excellent work in election year was carried by acclamation. During the evening Mr W. R. Sellar gave a short address on the constitution and work of the Divisional Executive.
