MANY VISITORS

PUBLIC LIBRARY POPULAR Over the holiday period, the Dunedin Public Library has been popular with Dunedin people and visitors alike. The staff has noticfed more visitors than last year, and during the afternoons both downstairs rooms have been quite full. There has also been a higher issue of books and magazines. Many visitors have asked to be shown round the library. Besides the permanent sections of the library, special displays dealing with toy-making and party games have been- set up. The Alfred and Isabel Reed c<pllection in the vestibule on the stairway should engage considerable attention. In the collection are a fifteenth century illuminated manuscript. a manuscript of the Latin Vulgate and a printed copy of the Great Bible. A section in the art and literature section upstairs, which always engages attention, is the collection of bound volumes of reproductions.
