ELLERSLIE MEETING
Vice Chancellor Likely Special to the Daily Times AUCKLAND, Oct. 13. Good fields are engaged on the second day of the' Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting at Ellerslie on Saturday, when the principal events will be the Spring Handicap and the Epsom Handicap. Light rain fell for several hours last night and was beneficial to the course, which was in excellent order this morning. The forecast is- for dull and mild weather, with some drizzle. Horses likely to find favour include:—
11.15: Normanby Hack Handicap.—Surprise Packet, Empire Prince, Biassed. 11.55: Manukau Hurdles.—Hunting Mac, Jon Rosa, Duncan.
12.40: Epsom Handicap.—Coonbridge, Brown Derby, Regality. 1.30: Spring Handicap.—Vice Chancellor, Napredak, Akbar. 2.15: On'ehunga Steeplechase.—Vindicator, Spirillum, Jemmy Button. 3 p.m.: Musket Stakes. —First division: Classowa, Correspond, Aggression. Second division: The Unicorn, Gold Step, Personage. 3.50: Hobson Hack Handicap.—Craftsman, King Finchall, Balmaha. 4.35: Liverpool Handicap.—Tudor Prince, Brown Derby, Dougal. North Wilts was scratched for the Manukau Hurdles at 12.15 p.m. to-ftay.
Peter Nelson was scratched from the Spring Handicap at. 4.5 p.m. Cairnwhin, who was balloted out of the Spring Handicap, now returns to the field.
