OBITUARY

The death occurred recently at Oamaru Public Hospital of Mr William Dunlop, aged 71 years. A well-known and respected figure in North Otago, Mr Dunlop was the eldest son of the late Mary and John Dunlop, of Tahakopa. He was born and educated at Maheno. Some years after his marriage to Maude Lonie, of Henley, Mr Dunlop purchased a small farm at Ngapara, and worked in the Ngapara flourmill for 27 years. Mr Dunlop took a keen interest in the activities of the Ngapara district, being secretary of the School Committee for 23 years. He was an active and valued member of the Ngapara Hall Committee, the Ngapara Collie Club, and the Patriotic Parcel Committee. Mr Dunlop retired to live in Oamaru four and a-half years ago. Mr Dunlop is survived by his wife and three daughters—Mrs M. Russell and Mrs S. Wilson, .of Ngapara, and Mrs T. Finlinson —and two sons, Messrs John- and Hugh Dunlop, of Oamaru.
