Whooray Favoured In Waikato Hurdles

Whooray, winner of the ROsebank Hack Hurdles at the Avondale meeting last week with 11.4, will appreciate his drop in weight to 9.9 in the Waikato Hurdles and he is likely to be one of the favourites for the event. He will be bracketed with another good performer in Corineus. There is a wealth of form in the race and there is plenty of room for an upset. The track should be in good order provided no further rain falls. The following horses may be well supported:— 11.0: Matangi Hack Hurdles.—First division: Ruling Master, Minion, Christopher Wren. Second division: Leigh Hark. Corsair, Shepherd’s Call. 11.45: Gordonton Hack Handicap.—First division: Rare Fox, Taiwa. Town Hero. Second division: Happy Issue, The Bat, Psalm Singer. 12.30: Te Rapa Plate.—First division. Detract, Beau Martian, Sareel. Second division: Robin Tor, Spiteful Lad. Pin-up. 1.20: Waikato Hurdles.—Whooray, Master Ted, Jon Rosa. 2.10: Hamilton Handicap. Foxbay, Prince Chat, Dark Arrow. 3.0: Frankton Steeplechase.—Red Glare, First Act, Roman Ned. 3.50: Maeroa Handicap.—Angeline, Parawern, Intervene. 4.40: Whatawhata Hack Handicap.—Barfleur, Whynot, Skylark.
