PRICES SATISFACTORY

BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE At the Balclutha stock sale held yesterday, 887 fat sheep and 578 store sheep were penned. Fat sheep sold fully up to late rates, and for the quality of the store sheep yarded, prices were satisfactory. Only 11 head of lad were offered, being light to medium sorts. The store cattle section numbered 142, aged bullocks being in demand. Quotations: — Fat Sheep.—Prime wethers made 59s to 60s; medium wethers, 49s 6d to 54s 6d, prime ewes, 33s to 355; medium ewes, 28s to 30s; light ewes, 22s to 255; prime lambs, 49s 6d; medium lambs, 38s Id to 41s 6d; light lambs, 31s to 36s 6d; shorn lambs, 39's. Store Sheep.—Small Romney cross twotooth ewes made 44s 6d; full-mouth hill ewes, 23s 6d; s.m. light conditioned ewes, 25s to 27s 6d; small two-tooth wethers, 43s 6d; medium m.s. lambs, 28s 6d. Fat Cattle—Light steers, to £l6; prime heifers, £l3 17s 6d; medium heifers, £11; light heifers, £9 15s; medium cows, £lO 10s to £ll 10s; light cows, £7 to £B. Store Cattle. —Four-year-old bullocks, £l7 12s to £18; three-year-old steers, £l6 8s to £l6 10s; run cows, young, to £9; heifer calves, £4 10s to £5 15s; steer calves, £4 15s to £6 15s; dairy cows at profit, £2l; spring calvers, £ls 10s; late calvers, £9 to £ll 10s.
