HEROIC GIRL IN FORM FOR BIRCHWOOD HUNT

The Invercargill track will be heavy for the Birchwood Hunt Club’s annual meeting to-day. Provision has been made to run the Otautau Harness Trot in three divisions, but one withdrawal will make it a two-division race. The BenbeculaLisheen bracket will probably be a warm favourite for the Gardner Memorial Steeples, in which most of the horses will be making their first appearances for the new steeplechase season. Those likely to race well include:— 11.0: Hunters’ Flat.—Recharge, Victory Flight, Hunting Charm. 11.40: Otautau Harness Trot.—First division: Sandy Ridge, Hall Dancer. Second division: Cottesloe, Jacquard. Third division: Isa Lei, Patricia Hall. • 12.20: Birchwood Novice Handicap.— First division: Centurion. Wint. Second division: Vermeer Lad, Banquet. 1.20: Gardner Memorial Steeples.— Benbecula-Lisheen bracket, Siglow, First Out. 2.0: President’s Handicap.—Heroic Girl, Red Pickle, Super Flight. 2.40: Wallace Saddle Trot.—Sandy RidgeAll Clear bracket, Sierra Sue, True Dillon. 3.20: J. S. Hazlett Memorial Hunt Steeples.—Waveline, Paladeo. Bonnie Simper. 4.0: Kennels Hack Handicap.—Glenlivet, Fonso. Bragden. Scratchings are: Wallace Saddle Trot, Dakota Boy; Otautau Trot, Dakota Boy; Birchwood Novice, Artist Glory; Gardner Memorial, Red Phil.
