FROM EULOGY FAMILY
Unplaced in only three of her ten starts to date, Eireann, a member of the famous Eulogy family, won her way out of hack class with a good win in the Alan Good Memorial at the Opunake meeting at Hawera last Saturday. Eireann had one start last season as a two-year-old, running unplaced. She began the present term promisingly with a second and a third, but it was not until four starts later that she recorded net- first success. Her next four starts resulted in two more wins and a fourth. By Te Hero, Eireann is the first foal of Mahaina, a useful galloper in the Taranaki district in recent years. Mahaina is by Posterity from Burnish, the dam of the ill-fated Burnished Ring and Shining Ring, by Pombal from Episode, by Limond from Homage, by Absurd from Eulogy. Eireann does not look as though she will be out of her depth in open company, and she has shown that she is likely to develop useful staying form
