EXCESS PAYMENT
TOTALISATOR CLERK’S MISTAKE PA CHRISTCHURCH, Mar. 25. As a result of having paid out £7B in error at the Cheviot Trotting Club’s meeting at Rangiora last Saturday, Mr L. R. Hurrell, of New Brighton, will have to make good the loss unless the man who received the dividend comes forward. The mistake occurred when Mr Hurrell was paying out on the Spotswood Handicap. The ticket concerned was on the second horse, Wrackdale, but Mr Hurrell mistook it for a No. 12 ticket on the third horse, Panic, which was an outsider, and paid out accordingly. The better should have received a dividend of little more than £B.
