BARRAGE SHOWS FORM FOR AWAPUNI MEETING

WELLINGTON. Dec. 23. A large number of fresh horses will compete on the second day of the Manawata Racing Club's summer meeting at Awapunl on Monday. The fields, though large, are slightly ‘smaller than on the first day and the only divided race on the programme is the Trial Handicap. The weather has been fine and unless there is considerable rain ,at the weekend the going should be in good order. Horses in favour include:— 11.15: Linton Hack Hurdles.—Homespun, Result, Tudor Chief. 11.57: Trial Handicap.—First division: Gay Gordon. Elbogen. Second division: Akl Aki, Chip. 12.42: Himatangi Handicap.—Marloch, Royal Spur, His Nibs. 1.27: Apprentices’ Hack Handicap.— Martianair, Lady Myrtle, Autoshine. 2.12: Louisson Handicap.—Barrage, Miss Bairnsfather, Imperial. 2.57: Awapuni Handicap.—Trafalgar Day, Fleetwood, Veine d'Or. 3.45: Palmerston North Hack Cup.— Buchanan, Sly Gold, Blue Seal. 4.35: Kelvin Handicap.—The Stormovik, Balcairn, Ngakoti.
