“THE OUTLAW”
Sir,—lt was with the greatest distress that I read in the Daily Times this morning the suggestion of G. W. M. that a trap should be set for the unfortunate collie dog. I sincerely trust that the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will condemn strongly any such action. The poor dog occasionally waits near my home, and seems very grateful for scraps of meat we take to nim. I feel sure that in time he will allow a woman to get hold of him, but he seems terribly afraid of any man. He will leave the meat and dash Off as soon as he sees any man approaching. I am afraid- he must have received cruel treatment from men already, and surely no further cruelty will be shown to this lost, forlorn dog. Can you ascertain from the original owner the name of the collie, and that might lead to his allowing some woman to capture him? —I am, etc.. Animal Lover. [We have been unable to identify the owner of the dog, but if he will communicate with this office we will be pleased to inform those interested of the animals name.—Ed. O.D.T.]
