OAMARU PRESBYTERY

Monthly Meeting There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Presbytery on Tuesday morning. The moderator, the Rev. A. Marshall, was in the chair. The members stood in silence as a. mark of respect to the memory of the Rev. W. G. Hannah.

A minute of appreciation of the services of the Rev. ‘J. Fordyce was read by the clerk, the Rev. L. W. Rothwell, and passed by the meeting. The Rev. C. R. Sprackett reported that a meeting had been held at Kurow on Sunday night, and a definite approach had been made to fill the vacancy in the charge. It was reported that the repairs to St. Paul’s Church would cost in the vicinity of £3OOO, and it was decided to ask for a grant. It was decided to give the £lO grant from the ■Evangelical Fund to the Cole-Porter scheme. The Rev. Mr Rothwell was appointed representative on the Synod Grant Committee
