MR T. BEE HONOURED
Presentation from Staff Mr T. Bee, of Bee Bros., wool and 'skin merchants, Oamaru, has purchased a home in Hawke’s Bay, and will shortly leave Oamaru for the North Island. On behalf of the firm’s staff Mr Norman Bee, supported by Mr P. L. Brown, presented him with a crystal set as a token of the esteem in which he was held by the employees, and as a mark of the cordial relations existing between the workers at the factory in Tyne street. “ I heartily congratulate Messrs Tom and Norman Bee on the manner in which they have so successfully rehabilitated themselves after jheir return from service overseas,” said the, Mayor, Mr M. F. E. Cooney, at a social gathering on Monday night, at which there was a representative gathering of business and pro-, fessional men as the guests of the firm. Mr Cooney went on to say that Mr Torn Bee started the business of wool and. skin merchants four years ago, and he was joined by his brother, Mr Norman Bee, a year later, and then shortly after by another brother, Mr Derek Bee. By their initiative and enterprise and by their hard work these young men had made a great succes of-the business, and had provided a striking example of returned servicemen rehabilitating themselves. Mr Cooney conveyed to the three brothers the congratulations of the gathering, and all good wishes for Mr Tom Bee’s success and happiness in Hawke's Bay. Mr Cooney’s remarks were supported by others present, and Messrs Norman and .Tom Bee in turn expressed their appreciation of the advice and help that had been given to them in l their business venture.
