EXEMPTION SOUGHT
LAND SALK ACT PROVISIONS Special to the Daily Times P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug 4. Twenty-five Wellington district citizens of both sexes* who bought building sections at the seaside resort of Waikanae, 37 miles from Wellington, and then could not complete the transactions because the Land Sales values were not acceptable to the vendor, petitioned the House of Representatives to-day asking that building sections not exceeding £250 on sale value be excluded from the provisions of the Land Sales Act.
They stated that if the Act were amended they believed they would be able to complete the transactions, and many other persons in similar circumstances would also benefit. They submitted that it was in the national interests that po restrictive measures should be permitted to operate harsnly where it was practicable to give relief from the provisions of the Act without an apparent likelihood of injustice or harm resulting.
