INTERNATIONAL OUTLOOK
“To my way of thinking, we haven’t really grasped an international outlook," said Mrs W. Elliott, of Outram, Dominion president of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, in an address in Christchurch, when urging that branches of the division should have an “ international 10 minutes ” at every meeting. No intensive study was necessary, she said. Talks could be given about other countries, and members could give a little thought to people living in devastated countries whom they were apt to criticise in their blind ignorance of the con‘ditions under which they lived. If women were going to be a power in the world as they hoped, they could only help the people of other countries by an intelligent understanding of them “We can’t stand and draw our skirts aside to-day. We are one big world with one big problem,” said Mrs Elliott.
