Supply of Bran

Town milk suppliers in Otago and Southland will welcome the announcement that any bran available, in excess of that required by poultry farmers, will be accorded priority of supply to town milk suppliers. The main question, however—and it still remains unans we red—is; How much “ excess ” bran will be available? At a meeting of the Dominion Dairy Section Council of Federated Farmers the chairman (Mr R. F. Dickie, of Southland) was appointed to discuss with the Department of Agriculture the subject of bran being supplied to non-essential industries at the expense of dairymen. An assurance was obtained from the department by Mr Dickie that any bran supplies not required for poultry purposes would be first made available to town milk producers in the South Island.
