OAMARU COMPETITIONS Special to the Daily Times OAMARU, May 20. Most classes in the Oamaru Competitions Society’s centennial festival continued to attract very large entries to-day. This was especially the case in the Sailor’s Hornpipe for children under 13, for which 47 competitors had entered, while the Sword Dance for children under nine attracted 40 competitors. Over 30 children entered for the Clog and Tap Dances, both under 13. From all aspects the competitions, which started last Monday and will conclude on Saturday morning, have been an outstanding success. Results:— Sword Dance (8 years and under). Forty entries.—J. Fagan (Christchurch) 1, P. Petersen (Dunedin) 2, G Molloy (Dunedin) 3. Musical Monologue (not humorous). Seven entries.—B. Chalmers (Oamaru) 1. S. Marshall (Timaru) 2, A. Palmer (Christchurch) 3.
