POSTER COMPETITION

UNITED NATIONS QUEST The United Nations Organisation is this year again sponsoring a worldwide poster competition based on the preamble to the Charter, which reads: “ To promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.” Last year one of the 13 prizes offered in the competition was won by a New Zealander, Mr L. C. Mitchell, of Wellington. Entries are confined to professional artists, and close in New Zealand on August 1. Three posters will be selected from each participating country, and will be forwarded to the Information Centre of the United Nations Organisation, where an international panel of judges will make the final awards. The first prize will be 1500 dollars, the second 1000 dollars, the third 500 dollars and there are 10 prizes of 100 dollars.
