NATIONAL PARTY

CONFERENCE IN DUNEDIN LARGE ATTENDANCE EXPECTED Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, May 17. It is expected by National Partyheadquarters that between 400 and 500 delegates, with their wives and visitors, will attend the eleventh annual conference of the party, which will be held at Dunedin on Monday, July 5, and Tuesday, July 6. The Dominion president, Mr J. Sim, K.C.. will preside. The fact that Parliament will be sitting at the time will present some difficulty to the parliamentary members of the party, but it is hoped that the maximum number will be present, at least on the first day. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Holland, will deliver an address at a reception to be given on the Monday night. With the general election then only about 16 months away, the, party conference will have important decisions to make.
