Thistle Beat Oamaru The Cave Cup competition game at Westend Park,- Timaru, on Saturday, between Thistle and Oamaru was won bv the Timaru team by 4 goats to 1. The first spelt was fast and open, with While, Devon, Webster and Wood playing well for Oamaru. The score was opened with a low drive. The Oamaru goalie, Daniells, in clearing, then kicked the hall against a Thistle forward, and it rebounded into the goal, making the halftime score: Thistle 1, Oamaru 1. Thistle forced the play in the second half, and scored three goals in succession. Parks, McLean and Webster worked*hard to equalise, but shots at goal were well held bv the Thistle goalie. White, Hector and Brown have been selected to play in the trial game for the representative match against Southland at Invercargill.
