TRADE UNION OPPOSITION
BRITAIN’S WAGE-PEGGING N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, May 13. A further indication of trade union opposition to wage-pegging occurred at a conference of the union of Post Office y/orkers. A motion by the union’s executive that any wages resolutions adopted by the conference should be accepted as a statement of policy only and that no action should be taken until the economic position improved was defeated by over three votes to one. One delegate after another stressed that the wage packet must be adequate to meet the co?t of living.
