SHIPPING HELD UP

HEAVY SEAS ON MANAKAU BAR P.A. AUCKLAND, May 14, Heavy seas on the Manukau bar have delayed shipping at Gnehunga since Wednesday. The Northern Steamship vessel Hauturu, which arrived off the bar from Raglan on Wednesday afternoon, and which could not cross, has not been seen since from the signal station at the South Head. The Anchor Line 'vessel Alexander, which arrived at the bar from Nelson on Thursday evening, was able to enter port this afternoon, however. After waiting inside the bar since Wednesday afternoon the Clansman, which is attempting to sail for Picton, returned to the Onehunga wharf.
