The apple and pear crop in the Nelson district has exceeded 1,000,000 cases. Some orchards have finished picking, but there is still a considerable quantity ot late varieties of apples to be harvested. It is expected that the total pip fruit yield for the season will be 1,250,000 cases, compared with 875.600 , last year. So far. 443,172 cases of apples have been exported and 477,786 have gone to the Internal Marketing Department. Pears total 76,894 cases.
