SHUNTING FATALITY

P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. A labourer employed by the Railways Department was killed in a shunting accident in the Christchurcn goods yards this afternoon. He was Vernon Rafael Hatcher, aged about 40. of 190 Waltham road. Hatcher was working on a stationary wagon when a rake of trucks was shunted on to the line, striking the wagon and knocking him under the wheels.
