MOTORISTS CHARGED
CITY POLICE COURT CASES A number of motorists charged with traffic offences came before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., in the City Police Court yesterday. For parking cars over the time limit, Henry Halliday, jun., Jean Elizabeth Ballard, John Austin Banks, Clifford Brown, John Butler, Victor Cooke, James John Davis, John Harper, Douglas James Hogg, Derek Simpson Laver, and Maurice Irma Rowcroft were each fined 10s ana costs. On a similar charge, Robert Alexander Reeves was convicted without penalty. Norman William Eadie admitted a charge of crossing a railway line while it was not clear, and was fined 20s and costs. On a similar charge in respect to an offence in Christchurch, Meynel Francis Henry Blain was fined 30s and costs. Charges of parking on a prohibited area were admitted by Harold John Tyrie. James Matheson and Gladstone Hutton, and they were each fined 20s and costs Bruce Marsden, for having no lights on his car, was fined 20s and costs. For exceeding a speed of 30 miles an hour in Princes street, Richard Olive Slevens was fined 30s and costs, and tor having no current warrant of fitness he was fined 10s and costs. Mervyn James Moore was fined 20s and costs for having no current warrant of fitness, and on a similar charge John Mclndoe, Ltd., Arthur James Moore and Alfred Louis Turner were each fined 10s and costs. Chimney Fire
For allowing a chimney to catch fire, Edward Tobin was fined 10s and costs.
