AVONDALE MEETING

TO-DAY'S PROSPECTS Special to the Dally Times AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. There was light rain last night and this afternoon, and the outlook for the opening of the Avondale Jockey Club’s spring meeting to-morrow is doubtful. The course dried a good deal as a result of the fine weather early in the week, and the going will not be as heavy as it has been for the most recent meetings in Auckland, unless there is more rain overnight. It is probable that the Kindergarten Stakes will be run in two divisions. Pro. vission was also made for two divisions in the Cornwallis Handicap, but scratchings have brought the field to within the safety limit. Horses expected to find favour include:— 10.35: September Hurdles.—Hunting Mac, Bay Robe, Sir Fox. 11.20: Cornwallis Handicap.—Floral Dance. Angeline, Master Coronach. 12.5: Henderson Handicap.—Langmor, Te Paerata, Kind Regards. 12.55: Avondale Cup.—Chung Chong. Valley Boy, Howe. 1.45: Kindergarten Stakes. —First division—Bolivar, Craftsman, Gay Coronach; second division —Tauloch, Jacquinot Bay, Foxlyn. 2.30: Swanson Hack Handicap.—Loyal Lu, Bay Jim, Beb. 3.15: Flying Handicap.—Royal Scot. Pelias, Rating. 4.0: Borough Handicap.—Dougal, Cambria, Ascot' Lad.
