MURDER CHARGE

CROWD THRONGS COURT CUSTODIAN’S HAND INJURED P.A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 18. Four hundred people, fought for admission to the Police Court to-day when Mrs Pansy Louise Frances Haskell, aged 49, who was arrested on August 2, was charged with the murder of Mrs Gladys Ruth Rusden on June 5. The police obtained a further remand until September 15, when, it is understood, the preliminary hearing will begin. When the court gates opened at 9.55 a.m. the crowd surged forward and the court custodian had to move quickly to avoid being knocked down. He was slightly injured in one hand. The majority of the crowd were women. The court was fully occupied in 30 seconds.
