ALL BLACK TOUR
SOUTH AFRICA’S REGRET P.A. WELLINGTON; Aug. 18. “ Decision received with regret Awaiting letter,” stated a cablegram from the South African Union concerning the postponement of the Alt Black lour till 1949. This was received to-day at the meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union. , , . Replying to a question, the chairman Mr S. S. Dean, said he felt sure that if South Africa was prepared to bear the cost of travelling by air it would have said so. The New Zealand Union would not consider bringing a team to this country at a cost of £19,000, and he felt that that would also be South Africa’s attitude.
